ICC application FAQs

This page is for candidates who have already completed an RYA Powerboat Level 2 course.

How do I apply for an ICC?

We recommend applying online via the RYA website: https://www.rya.org.uk/icc-application
Alternatively you can download a postal application and send this by post to:
RYA Certification, RYA House, Ensign Way, Southampton SO31 4YA

What documents do I need for my ICC application?

Please have digital copies of the following documents ready for your ICC application:

  • A digital copy (photograph or scan) of your passport or a national ID card showing your nationality
  • A digital copy of a document which confirms your habitual residential address (Driving licence, council tax, bank statements or credit card statement)
    Collectively these documents must verify your identity (name, address, date of birth, photograph) and your nationality.
  • Evidence of your competence for each of the categories you request are validated on your ICC – this is your RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate.
  • A passport photograph in portrait orientation

    Note: you can only upload pdf or jpg files of less than 5MB.

MyRYA account registration

“This date of birth or reference number does not match the data we hold for you. Please contact [email protected]

Your RYA certificate has been electronically registered with the details you provided, however this does not created a linked account in the RYA system. When creating a MyRYA account, select “I just need to register“. You will be able to upload a copy of your certificate later in the application process.

I haven’t completed an ICC assessment?

Scroll down to the “Powerboat” section and select “RYA Powerboat Level 2 completed on or after 15 April 2019
This will validate the category of “Power up to 10m” and you will need to upload a copy of your certificate as evidence later in the application.

I need to Fast Track my application

Complete your ICC application online, and when prompted, opt into the Fast Track scheme.
NB. RYA members enjoy free ICC certification/updates and save £49 on fast-track application fees!
